This month, our “get to know” series travels to South Dakota and introduces you to an IPL team member who helps to make sure all the numbers are adding up correctly. This month, we sat down and talked to Denise Bartlett.
Read on to learn more about Denise, how she came to join us here at IPL, what she wished more people knew about PPLI and, of course, what she’s watching on TV these days.
My title is Accounting Support Specialist, but as the only South Dakota based employee I keep the Sioux Falls office operating, processing mail and phone calls in addition to supporting the Accounting Department by processing banking activity, outgoing wire transfers, accounts payable and various financial account reconciliations. Sometimes I also get to help both Operations and Client Services.
I grew up in Los Angeles, attending Los Angeles Community College for my associate’s degree. Later in life I returned to school obtaining my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from American Intercontinental University.
In High School I participated in a Junior Achievement program in which I was the bookkeeper for the company we ran during the training and mentoring event. I was hooked. Accounting became my calling. I enjoy learning new industries and when this position was advertised, I researched Investors Preferred before deciding I would apply for the job.
Everything is interesting to me as I haven't worked in any insurance industry position until now. I haven't been in my position a full year yet and I am still learning something every day. I am beginning to make connections, but I still have a way to go.
I wish people understood that PPLI isn't a one size fits all offering. The needs of the client are the driver of the package of products recommended for the preservation of their wealth with the goals of transfer of that wealth to future generations or other recipients the client wishes to designate.
At IPL the client’s needs always come first. We arrange our resources and processes to provide swift responses and incomparable service building a singular relationship with our customers.
Well, we've just finished the 1923 series, and I am eagerly awaiting the start of the new Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season. In the meantime, I am watching the Biography series produced on the Presidents of the United States or just about any series on the solving of cold murder cases.
